KDIC has powers to undertake an examination of any institution whenever it deems it necessary to determine the condition of such an institution for purposes of its objective.
The scope of examination may include
- Whether proper and adequate deposit records are maintained by an institution
- Whether reports made by an institution are correct
- Compliance with terms and conditions or any other requirements of membership
Upon completion of a special examination KDIC makes a report of the examination to the Central Bank of Kenya and may recover any cost of special examinations from the institution examined as a debt due and payable to the Corporation.
